When I first got the bug to start hiking New Hampshire’s 48 four thousand foot peaks, hiking Mount Tecumseh was the first one on my list. I’m not sure why. For no reason I started with the smallest of all the 48 with an elevation of only 4,003 ft. It’s also located in the Sandwich Range which is an area of the White Mountains I had never explored. The trail head starts at Waterville Valley Ski Resort, one of the largest ski resorts in New Hampshire, and follows the resort all the way to the top. The trail itself has a consistent elevation gain with myriad of rock steps that have been built up over the years. Mount Tecumseh can be done as a loop if you take the Sosman Trail over to the summit of the ski resort. Pull up a chairlift and sit back, relax and take in the views. Descending one of the ski trails down was pretty easy, however my legs were on fire from “running” down a consistently steep incline with no flat ground. Overall Tecumseh was a easy hike with some decent views. I can’t wait to get back and explore this area a little further.

My name is Tim. If there is one thing I've learned, it's that I dislike writing about myself. Because of that, you can find me behind the camera, hiking through the woods, reading, meditating and feeding my curiosity by studying a whole host of other subjects. Thanks for stopping by.
