Finally made the journey to Walden Pond. This trip had been on my radar for a couple of years but I never made it a priority. That changed last weekend when Kristen and I left Portland with our snowshoes hoping to break some trails around the pond. Upon arriving to Walden Pond Reservation there was almost no snow anywhere. Dang. The foot traffic was minimal and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Its about a 1.7 mile loop around the pond if you stick to the Pond Path. We zigzagged all over the park and ended up doing about 3 miles. The trails are wide and there are a lot of them. Since the swimming would have been icy, we’ll be back this summer to experience the park again in warmer weather.
